It was hot, sweaty and standing room only in the room above the Adelphi for March’s ‘YOU’RE ‘AVIN’ A GIRAFFE’; and those that squeezed in were duely treated to a 'comedy masterclass'. However, with the howls still echoing, we waste no time in looking straight forward to what promises to be another bellyachingly fun April gig...
So this month we are lucky enough to be hosting one of stand-up’s brightest stars! Yes, DAN NIGHTINGALE makes a stop-off in our very intimate room as part of hisl LIVE WORLD TOUR. Dan is a natural performer, a brilliant compere and one of the most exciting acts in comedy; he mixes cutting observation and raucous gags with high energy audience work and a natural playfulness, engaging any crowd. Original, creative and totally un-predictable.

Also for April we see a return to the Adelphi for LOU CONRAN. Lou was the long-standing resident compere during the Smirking Room’s Adelphi residence 2005 – 2008. You are likely to find her jollying the audience along and interacting freely. Always happy to take the rise out of anyone and say the things she shouldn’t. It’s an appealing mix of charm, cheeriness and cheek!

Holding it together as usual is our very own MC DANNY MCLOUGHLIN. Confident enough to take a risk on stage he does so not to the detriment of the audience, keeping them laughing along or hanging on every word. Probably why the rapport he has with the YAAG crowd grows stronger with every gig. Aww, bless him… A bright future surely awaits this finalist of last years’ Chortle Student Comedian of the Year
